Have fun with abstract painting!

One Day Workshop with Hannie McCallum

These workshops give you the chance to “let go” and enjoy finding out what abstract painting is like. Hannie will guide you in the basics of colour, composition, and texture, mainly using acrylic paints; you will quickly get right into it, putting brush to canvas and experiencing the satisfaction of expressing yourself in abstract painting. Workshops are held in Hannie’s home studio in Bullwood, Dunoon and are limited to four participants, which creates a relaxed and informal small group atmosphere; everyone sits together around a large table. Everything needed for the day’s activities is provided (brushes, paints, canvas, etc.). You only need to bring an apron and wear old clothes (acrylic paint is water soluble but difficult to remove from clothes). The workshop fee includes tea/coffee but not lunch. There are several places in the vicinity to enjoy lunch out, but you are also welcome to bring your own and eat in the studio. Workshops are currently for adults. Places are available on a “first-come, first-served” basis so if you are interested, please book through the website. If you are not looking for a workshop this spring but would be interested in one later in the year, please register your interest by sending Hannie an email . If you cancel your booking no less than one week before the Workshop the fee is refundable. Alternatively, the fee could be applied to booking a later Workshop. Please see examples of students' work below.
